Business Systems Analyst

Client is looking for a Senior Business Systems Analyst (BSA) with over 7 plus years of experience in data analytics which includes business process analysis/modeling, business requirements gathering, database design and development of Web based and Client/Server applications. The BSA will help ensure success of data and analytics projects by serving as a liaison between users and data analysts/developers, gathering requirements, transforming large amounts of data into compelling visual data stories, setting and communicating goals, assessing project priority, and evaluating and refining project results. This role will collaborate with our client’s business and development staff to deliver data warehousing and BI projects.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for transforming large amounts of data into compelling visual Data stories to facilitate users.
• Visualized data built presentable dashboards and Data stories in a BI Tool (Tableau, PowerBI, OBIEE, etc) and presented it to a team of experts.
• Utilize Data story techniques to present data findings in a clear and accessible manner, catering to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Contribute to the development of a data-driven culture within the organization by conducting training sessions on data stories and visualization.
• Develop and implement data stories strategy to communicate complex insights to cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Work on Data stories, data cleaning and preprocessing the data, conducting exploratory data analysis and identifying any initial patterns or outliers.
• Worked on Visual elements such as charts, graphs, and other visual representations are essential components of data stories to help make the complex data more accessible and allow audiences to quickly grasp key insights.
• Understand Data warehouse concepts balancing star/snowflake schema, ETL, Migration of data present in different sources like SQL, Oracle, text, excel, csv etc files into an Integrated MIS Server (Data Warehouse) using ETL tool.
• Proficient in business process modeling, documentation, and testing using Rational Suite (Rational Rose, RequisitePro, SoDA, ClearQuest, Robot) as well as MS Visio and MS Project in combination with UML 2.0 diagramming techniques.
• Data visualization knowledge for Enterprise Reporting Applications such as PBI, Cognos, Tableau, or SSRS.
• In-depth knowledge of creating use case, activity, logical, component and deployment views with rational tools to extract business process flows and workflows thereby helping development and quality assurance teams in understanding the requirements.
• Experience in implementing Slowly Changing Dimensions within MicroStrategy Projects
• Knowledge of ETL (Extract, Transform and Load) processes for bringing data into a data warehouse/date mart and Business Intelligence (BI) tools
• Experience in Jira, Confluence, Version One and Business Process Management (BPM) or Primavera for Enterprise Project Portfolio Management tool.
• Hands on experience with JIRA Agile and Confluence management and collaboration tools.
• Results-oriented Joint Application Development (JAD) Facilitator and meetings coordinator with excellent interpersonal skills.
• Experience in working to gather requirements for an EDW: e.g., Hadoop Big Data Environment, Netezza, Snowflake, Azure, Databricks
• Experience in designing, developing and maintaining Kimball's Method Data warehouse system
• Exposed to all phases of software development life cycle SDLC including in-depth knowledge of Agile methodology, Enterprise Reporting Life Cycle, SQL Server Migrations, Change control rules, problem management and escalation procedures.
• Able to perform Gap Analysis to check the compatibility of the existing system infrastructure with the new business requirements
• Strong oral and exceptional written business communication skills
• Good understanding of Enterprise Data Warehouse insight data.
• Excellent meetings facilitator with excellent inter-personal and conflict resolving skills.
  
  

Requirements

• Senior Data Analyst with 7+ years of experience in business process analysis/modeling, business requirements gathering, database design and development of Web Based, and Client/Server applications.
• Experience as Business Intelligence/Systems/Data/Business Analyst with expertise in in the Ecommerce and Retail Industries, Business Process Engineering, Systems/ Solutions Engineering, Strategic Planning, and Systems Analysis
• Understand Data warehouse concepts balancing star/snowflake schema, ETL, Migration of data present in different sources like SQL, Oracle, text, excel, csv etc files into an Integrated MIS Server (Data Warehouse) using ETL tool.
• Proficient in business process modeling, documentation, and testing using Rational Suite (Rational Rose, RequisitePro, SoDA, ClearQuest, Robot) as well as MS Visio and MS Project in combination with UML 2.0 diagramming techniques.

• Strong oral and exceptional written business communication skills
• Good understanding of Enterprise Data Warehouse insight data.

• Retail Experience required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business or a related field required.
