Remote Field Office Internships & Fellowships (5-Months)

These opportunities are working directly with an IJM Field Office (remotely). Given that, you are asked to flex your schedule to align at least half of your weekly hours within the 9-5 of your team. Depending on your time zone, this may be early mornings or late evenings for you, so please keep this in mind as you consider the various opportunities.

Current Opportunities (20 hours/week minimum):

Survivor Network Intern, Guatemala: Guatemala has been working for 7 years to strengthen survivors of physical and sexual violence against women and children in order to advocate with authorities to make decisions that benefit victims of violence in the country. Currently, we are in an expansion phase through implementing partners, to whom IJM provides support for the creation of nodes (groups) of survivors in the departments of Quetzaltenango and Escuintla. The intern will mainly provide administrative and logistical support to the technical team in charge of the Survivors project.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide administration support to the team by scheduling the meetings, drafting the minutes of the meeting, JDS (Justice Data Solutions) update, logistical aid during trainings.
  • Preparing travel and security plans
  • Preparing documentation applicable to the programmed activities
  • Support in the expense settlements
  • Preparing tasks for programmed activities (communications, coordination, agenda setting, follow-ups, participation in meetings, among others).
  • Contact, coordinate and contract services with suppliers.
  • Support with product development (if feasible).
  • Flexibility of schedule (some activities are carried out outside Guatemala's working hours since we adjust to the schedules that survivors have available).

Africa Europe Strategy and Operations Intern or Fellow:

  • Providing support to the AFREU regional support team, building out and reviewing strategy, operations and business processes.
  • MBA, business qualification/background, English speaker, MS proficiency, BA degree, preferably in business, international relations. Experience in project management and/or consultancy is desirable. Good written skills.
  • Experience with PowerPoint, excel, presentation creation is desirable.

Investigations & Law Enforcement Development Intern ,Center to End Online Sexual Exploitation of Children(Supervisor based in U.S)

  • Provide administrative, logistical and training preparation support to the Center to End OSEC ILED team on law enforcement capacity building and partnership engagements and events.
  • English fluent (writing and oral); strong communications skills; proficient in Outlook, Zoom, Teams, and other electronic communications; strong organization and attention to detail; flexible.

Admin & Coordination Intern: Center to End Online Sexual Exploitation of Children:

  • Provide administrative, logistical, meeting, and event support to the Center's prosecution & aftercare team, survivor consultants, and the Center's Executive team for partner engagements and events.
  • English fluent (writing and oral); strong communications skills; proficient in Outlook, Zoom, Teams, and other electronic communications; strong organization and attention to detail; flexible.

Africa Europe Program & MERL Intern or Fellow:

  • The overall purpose of the MERL role is to support field office leadership in the design, monitoring and/or evaluation of projects. Specific emphasis on DME components will largely be based on the project life cycle in a particular field office. Depending on your level of experience, your role may involve some of the following responsibilities as well as other relevant duties that may be assigned by the Field Office Director or Supervisor.
  • Support regional programs team with reporting, data entry/analysis, writing, general project support, plus an element of admin/logistics.
  • Fluent English, analytical/numerical/IT skills, academic background might be social sciences, statistics, international development.

Africa Europe Grants Intern:

  • Support Regional Grants and Resources team with reporting, analysis, research and management as required.
  • Fluent English, analytical/numerical/IT skills, academic background might be international development, project management, research or social sciences.

Africa Europe HR Intern:

  • Support Regional HRBP track deliverables across the region, research training and resources, and general support for employee lifecycle including recruitment branding
  • Excellent written English, MS Office skills, comfortable with data collection, some analysis; background or interest in HR; strong attention to detail

Bangladesh Program Intern:

  • The Bangladesh Program Intern will support IJM's efforts to launch programming in Dhaka to address the commercial sexual exploitation of minors. The program intern will join an agile team of expert professionals located across the global organization (DC, India, and Kenya), assisting in establishing operations, program research, project management, and team administration as required.
  • Strong research & writing skills, indicative of strong analysis Experience in cross-cultural communication/working with various cultural contexts Adaptable and agile worker; able to shift between many different kinds of tasks. University upperclassmen or graduate student preferred.

South Asia Regional Operations Intern (Supervisor in Washington D.C):

  • The Intern serving as the Regional Operations Intern for South Asia Region will experience and learn from several elements of non-profit program operations: project management, communications, strategic research, grant management, and event organizing. Projects will be a mix of administrative support activities as well as collaborating with other regional team members in their specialized areas. Potential projects may be, but are not limited to, grant research & writing, administrative support, internal communications, documentation of new projects, and other specialized projects. This is a versatile role that serves to offer a broad scope of experience in many elements of organizational non-profit work.
  • Experience with research and research related writing. Cross-cultural working experience. Administrative experience. Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office Softwares (ex. Excel). Flexibility and ability to adapt. Strong organizational skills.

Internship Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree;
  • Organizational and administrative skills;
  • Attention to detail;
  • Knowledge of Microsoft software and Windows strongly preferred; and
  • Fluency in Spanish required for Latin America offices.

Fellowship Qualifications

  • Project Management qualification (PMP®, Prince2® or similar certification) or graduate level qualification;
  • Three+ years of project management experience, ideally in culturally diverse settings and on complex projects;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; and
  • Fluency in Spanish required for Latin America offices.
