Remote Associate Medical Director - Health Plans

A reputable, non-profit health system is currently seeking a Remote Health Plans Associate Medical Director! This exciting opportunity for a Remote Associate Medical Director of Health Plans is a full-time, work from home position. In this role as Associate Medical Director - Health Plans, this leader will be tasked with leveraging clinical expertise and system improvement skills to implement Clinical Service Programs especially focused on Care Coordination, Case Management, and Utilization Review. Responsibilities encompass ensuring compliance, navigating Oregon Administrative Rules (OARs), and driving system transformation with a specific emphasis on integrating whole person health. The position requires a deep understanding of Medicaid, Medicare, continuum of care, state and Coordinated Care Organization (CCO) regulations, and the ability to identify gaps for constructive support and change.

Ideal qualifications for the Remote Health Plans Associate Medical Director include an unencumbered MD or DO license. A successful completion of a residency program in a primary care specialty, such as Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Pediatrics, is required, with preference given to those with Board Certification. Consideration will also be extended to candidates with backgrounds in Psychiatry and OB/GYN. A minimum of five (5) years of clinical practice experience is essential, though exceptions may be made for individuals with equivalent health plan experience. Ideal candidates will bring leadership experience in a managed care system and demonstrate familiarity with community or migrant health centers. Moreover, a proven track record in the development and implementation of effective healthcare policy, particularly in the realms of quality monitoring, medical appropriateness, and utilization of healthcare services, is preferred. Additionally, possessing additional business-related degrees or training would be strongly advantageous for prospective applicants.
