Position

 

The Relationship Coordinator (RC) role is an entry level internal sales position for Polen Capital.  It is designed to support approximately 12 professional salespeople by helping them be more time efficient, and more aware of sales opportunities in their sales territories.  The RC adds significant value by lifting administrative, analytic, and basic client servicing tasks off our salespeople’s plates.  This enables the sales team to be more proactive and ultimately to be more successful.  In so doing, the RC will build up a library of critical skills that can support career growth along a sales track with Polen Capital.

The role requires attention to detail, a sense of duty to teammates, and curiosity about capital markets.  From a day-to-day basis, a Relationship Coordinator can expect to rotate among a variety of tasks, including for example:

  • Proactive, Outbound Phone + E-mail Scheduling
  • Competitive Analysis using Morningstar, Zephyr and other tools
  • CRM Data Entry / Clean Up
  • Sales Enablement / Lead Generation using internal + external data sources and vendors
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders across marketing, analytics and other areas in efforts to support our sales team on strategic projects

It is important to note that the Relationship Coordinator is a sales role at its core.  The role is an opportunity to build a portfolio of skills that can set candidates up for an attractive “on ramp” to a sales/ relationship management career in asset management.

Successful candidates will have an entrepreneurial spirit and drive and will want to work hard to be seen as a trusted and critical business partner.  Success in the role fundamentally relies on a candidate’s proactive approach, laser-focus on the needs of their business partners, and desire to continuously improve. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Proactive scheduling outreach in assigned territory to financial advisors via outbound call and e-mail efforts
  • Assist in strategic oversight/coordination of territory travel for meetings and conferences
  • Collaborate with senior internal salespeople to enable them to proactively secure prospect and client review meetings
  • Serve as a home office point of contact to promptly answer client questions or direct client questions to the appropriate salesperson
  • Analyze competitive product reports, and offer ideas on how to position Polen Capital attractively
  • Data-Driven approach to territory segmentation and call prioritization
  • Lead CRM system data entry process and maintain CRM system integrity
  • Manage regular Distribution requests including peer comparison reports, presentation material requests, account processing assistance, and operational inquiries
  • Analyze daily reports and provide insights and follow-up opportunities for Distribution team
  • Commitment to partnership: sales is a team sport, and the RC is a quarterback at the heart of a high-functioning sales team, helping align everyone to the team’s highest value efforts
  • Build strong relationships with partners across the firm- including marketing, data analytics, and the investing teams
  • Develop and grow knowledge over time of market dynamics and the firm’s investment strategies and offerings. Share client and market feedback with internal partners across the firm
  • Focus on the bottom line: team success will be measured primarily on asset-growth and retention in targeted products, with targeted financial advisors.  Offer proactive ideas on how our sales teams can be more effective in their territories
  • Document activities and opportunity milestones in a timely way via required technologies and process in the contact management system


Qualifications

  • Comfort with phone and e-mail tools
  • Commitment to the team - a sense of ownership and passion for doing right by teammates is a key intrinsic skill
  • Conviction in the value of data analytics to segment prospects by success likelihood
  • FINRA SIE, S7, S66 Licenses a plus - Polen Capital will support this hire in attaining these licenses in conjunction with gaining the requisite sales experience to grow into a Relationship Associate (Internal Wholesaler role) for the right candidate
