About The Role

The Relationship Banker position is a cross-functional position in the retail banking group. While encompassing the traditional teller/cashier position by conducting transactions for clients and other departments within the bank, this position is also expected to proactively sell and refer a wide range of banking products, provide consultative financial and technical support to clients, and act as a liaison between clients and other lines of business. This position is not a management position but may be expected to exhibit leadership as it relates to the tasks and projects assigned. As the “front line” staff, those in this position are often the first point of contact for existing and potential customers, requiring strong interpersonal skills and a dedication to customer service.

What You’ll Do

  • Explain, promote, and sell products and services to support company and individual goals through in-branch opportunities, generating referrals, and proactive calling on leads.
  • Provide excellent customer service throughout the client relationship, uncovering opportunities to enhance and/or deepen existing relationships.
  • Coordinate with other departments as needed to provide a wide range of financial solutions and to ensure problem resolution, providing follow-up as needed to ensure the customer needs were met.
  • Possess a deep understanding of banking fundamentals as well as CFBank services, products, and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct a wide range of daily customer transactions including check cashing, deposits, withdrawals, IRA transactions, HSA transactions, loan payments, opening and closing deposit accounts, ATM balancing (where applicable), and other transactions on deposit accounts, while operating within procedural guidelines and compliance requirements.
  • Help to ensure branch compliance, assisting with internal and external audits as needed.
  • Comply with internal security policies and procedures and maintain customer confidentiality at all times.
  • Register and maintain a registry with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS), to comply with the S.A.F.E. Act Requirements

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience and Knowledge: A high school diploma or GED is required for the position. Experience in banking is ideal as this position will require strong product knowledge and cross-selling skills! Ability to generate new financial relationships through outbound calling, internal business development, and building a loyal customer base.
  • Proficient computer skills are required and the ability to learn various Banking Software programs.
