The Reimbursement Benefit Team Lead is the daily workflow contact point for team members and will provide daily guidance and a collaborative environment to engage the team in meeting weekly/monthly/quarterly goals. The Team Lead is responsible for coordinating and resolving escalated issues, ensuring quality within the team by assisting with updating procedures and ensuring staff understands the procedures. This individual will keep management updated on team performance, act as a back up to the supervisor, as well as coordinate and lead process improvement initiatives and training activities for team members.
Responsibilities
Verify eligibility and durable medical equipment benefits of patient medical insurance
Facilitate maintenance of accurate and complete documentation in databases and patient files according to procedures and requirements
Provide department training or retraining to new or existing team members
Work in conjunction with management to write, update and train on procedures ensuring all team members understand
Assist in developing metrics and report to the team and management regularly
Function as a department resource for payer, eligibility and benefits
Provide team members successes, feedback and concerns to management for coaching
Manage complex insurance verifications and provide follow-up as assigned by management
Facilitate maintenance of accurate and complete documentation in databases and patient files according to known procedures and requirements
Collaborate with Authorization Coordinators as needed, including benefit re-verification
Act as a Subject Matter Expert as necessary in cross-functional meetings/projects
Work with management to identify interdepartmental efficiency improvements
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education & Experience
Required
Bachelor's degree or 3+ years' experience with medical insurance benefits
Experience with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Visio, SharePoint) and ability to learn, understand and apply new technologies
Preferred
Knowledge of medical terminology and experience with DME
Experience training in a small or large group setting
Knowledge & Skills
Able to provide on-going communications to the field, payers, peers and management
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Strong sense of urgency and superior time management skills
Demonstrated organizational, teamwork, and interpersonal skills
Proven ability to multi-task to meet required deadlines
Solid ability to proactively identify issues and efficiencies and propose solutions
Ability to perform all job duties while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements including HIPAA
Below is the starting salary range for this position, although offers may differ based on the candidate's location, job-specific knowledge, skills and experience.
$25.24 - $35.34 / HR
