Job Title - Rehabilitation Counselor (Rehab A/B)
Location - Worcester MA
Assignment Length 12 weeks with possible extension (Long-Term)
Job Duties And Responsibilities
Conducts counseling interviews with individual clients or groups of clients to guide them in their vocational pursuits and the rehabilitation recovery process.
Develops, implements, and supervises skills training and supported work programs.
Conducts group workshops for clients in interviewing skills, resume writing, work skills and behaviors to prepare them for job opportunities; reviews work adjustment issues related to current work training.
Provides individual assessment, evaluation, placement counseling, and on-site supervision of trainees.
Confers with staff, clients, professional specialists and others to exchange client information and determine appropriate training placements.
Prepares and reviews reports and recommendations regarding problems, progress, programs and treatment.
Qualifications
Knowledge of the principles and technique of recovery & rehabilitation.
Knowledge of the types of uses of reference sources for occupational information.
Knowledge of the types and symptoms of mental and/or emotional disorders.
Knowledge of the methods of general report writing.
Knowledge of the methods and techniques of vocational education for Vocational Rehabilitation.
Ability to analyze and determine the applicability of data, to draw conclusions and make appropriate recommendations.
Ability to gather information through direct questioning and observation of individuals.
Ability to gather information by examining records and documents.
Minimum Requirements
Required work experience: At least three years of full-time or equivalent part-time, professional experience in Vocational Rehabilitation work, teaching life skills in rehab training programs or in the counseling, guidance or education of the mentally, physically, or emotionally challenged individuals.
