Duties/Responsibilities
Provide specialized nursing care to patients in the Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit (Neuro ICU).
Monitor and manage patients' conditions including ICP (Intracranial Pressure) monitoring, ventilator management, and telemetry.
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
Utilize advanced equipment such as EVD (External Ventricular Drain) management, ventilators, Zoll temperature management systems, and PCAs (Patient-Controlled Analgesia).
Maintain accurate patient records using systems like Pyxis and EPIC, and communicate effectively using SBAR (Situation, Background, Assessment, Recommendation).
Participate in unit-specific procedures and protocols.
Requirements
Minimum 2 years of experience in Neuro ICU or relevant critical care settings.
ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) and BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) certifications required.
Experience with ICP management, stroke management, seizure management, and critical care patient management.
Ability to work night shifts (3x12-hour shifts, 18:45 - 07:15) with weekend rotations (every other weekend).
Must Have Skills
Proficiency in ICP Monitoring, Ventilator Management, and Telemetry.
Experience with EVD management and titrating drips.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
