Band 5 - £30,229 - £37,664

Plus £1,279 Distant Islands Allowance

An exciting development opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic Registered General Nurse into the Clinical Support Nurse team based at Western Isles Hospital.

Applicants will have RN1 Adult level registration with the NMC and a current Immediate Life Support certificate. Applicants must be willing to complete their Advanced Nurse Practitioner programme at masters level.

The applicant should be a skilled practitioner with a minimum of 1 year’s experience in an acute setting and be able to demonstrate strong interpersonal skills with a flexible team orientated approach. The practitioner should work well as an individual but also within the wider clinical teams.

The applicant should have excellent organisational skills and have experience of dealing with acute medical and surgical patients. The applicant should work well under pressure and in stressful situations.

This post is not eligible for relocation expenses.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
