INTRODUCTION TO ROLE

The Regional Sales and Marketing Manager, based in the greater Houston Metro , is responsible for developing and executing sales and marketing strategies to generate growth for the assigned property portfolio. This includes creating, growing, and maintaining assigned accounts, identifying new business, and marketing or promotional opportunities. The Regional Sales and Marketing Manager will maintain direct relations with current and future clients, identify need dates, and create sales and marketing strategies and actions to grow revenue. They will have the ability to effectively manage multiple accounts and drive sales to the portfolio via group sales bookings or seasonal contracts.

What You Will Work On

  • Responsible for prospecting, lead generation, and closing sales leads for the assigned properties.
  • Provides strong attention to detail in the preparation of group or account contracts, event needs, and group overviews.
  • Negotiates and closes assigned leads for the portfolio. Assist property in the execution of group or event needs.
  • Conducts onsite visits or client visits as needed to close business.
  • Identifies marketing and sales opportunities for assigned portfolios.
  • Create and implement strategic market plans to grow revenue in the assigned properties.
  • Participate in property Revenue/Marketing/Operations calls as needed, a minimum of one per month.
  • Close sales effectively, being mindful of cost and budget impacts.
  • Maintains and owns regular reporting and metric evaluation and supports reporting and forecasting for the sales team.
  • Understands portfolio competitors and industry trends.
  • Follows up promptly on and closes sales leads generated by the property team or other parts of the sales organization.
  • Proactively identify additional sources of revenue for the local market.
  • Participate in team selling efforts to identify and win business opportunities within accounts owned by others.
  • Use effective sales and negotiating skills to achieve rate targets in pursuing and winning business.
  • Works with property and regional partners to create market sales plans and detailed action plans to grow revenue for the assigned properties.
  • Identify and attend Regional Trade Shows for supporting properties.
  • Identify account owners with businesses coming into your markets and collaborate with them to identify and win additional business opportunities within those accounts.
  • Create and target a list of prospective business opportunities in the local market on an ongoing basis.
  • Creates open and dynamic dialogue between operations and marketing to communicate all marketing requests and needs effectively.
  • Strategically advises on which marketing channels would best deliver results, including making spend-per-channel recommendations
  • Oversees all marketing channels per assigned region of properties - email, digital, social, PR, blog content topics, photo/video shoots, graphic design, etc. and provides month-over-month analytics and ROI reports
  • Supports execution of brand initiatives and strategies; thinks creatively and outside of the box to initiate fresh, compelling, and creative concepts to support business needs.
  • Provides direction and content for social media to outsourced marketing partners on a complete monthly calendar basis
  • Research geographic and demographic information of each assigned property and provide recommendations for new tactics, sale strategies and media implementation.
  • Support operating budget process as requested.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Provides regular and reliable attendance.
  • Will include travel to the assigned portfolio as needed and other travel to represent properties (30-60%)
  • Achieve revenue goals and other performance metrics for the assigned hotel portfolio.
  • Monitor and submit reports on sales productivity to management and customers. Provide detailed reporting to customers and internal managers as requested.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of all account contact and sales activities.
  • Understand and use a variety of reports and sales technology aids to maximize revenue.

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

The Regional Sales Marketing Manager role reports to the VP of Business Development. Will directly with their assigned portfolio via phone, Teams, and in-person visits.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sales or Marketing or 5-7 yrs. relevant experience in lieu of a degree
  • 3-5 years’ experience in Sales / Marketing.
  • Hospitality Extended Stay or Corporate Housing experience (Preferred)
  • Group Sales experience, preferably in hospitality.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written)
  • Travel 30-60%
  • Special license or certification
  • Resides in the Houston Metro area (required)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is also required to occasionally lift office products and supplies up to twenty pounds.
