Regional Managing Director

The Regional Managing Director (RMD) has a pivotal role in providing leadership and managing their region to meet the region's goals. The RMD ensures efficiency, accountability, operational effectiveness, and profitability of the department. Additionally, the RMD ensures their team proactively maintains current client relationships and develops new client relationships. Ultimately, the RMD should motivate the team to reach and surpass its established revenue goals within their region serving as Senior Manager on deals and alternatively as Co-Senior Manager and Co-Manager on transactions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

·         ·         Manages and oversees the productivity and profitability of their territory

·         Develops and executes a short-term and long-term regional business plan to increase revenues and reduce expenses

·         Pro-actively meets with team monthly on a one-on-one basis to review productivity and expenses vs. established revenue goals

·         Provides motivation, leadership and direction to the Bankers focusing on objective results to effectively increase revenue

·         Conducts regular daily and weekly conference calls with all bankers providing updates on activities and transactions

·         Directs and guides Bankers to implement cost effective financing strategies and innovative revenue generating ideas for state, municipal and non-for-profit clients

·         Creates a business development plan, in conjunction with the team, to engage, maintain and enhance current client relationships and to build new relationships

·         Monitors and oversees the transaction pipeline ensuring proper coverage to execute

·         Increase company's deal participation primarily as a Senior Manager

·         Regularly monitors market conditions and adjust strategic direction as needed

·         Responsible for covering key company client accounts

·         Ensures fiscal responsibility by regularly monitoring individual revenue and expenses

·         Communicates innovative ideas and added value techniques to Bankers therefore being utilized as a resource

·         Effectively develops individualized training, development, and action plan when applicable to ensure goals are met

·         Pro-actively builds an effective team by recruiting results-oriented individuals to sustain operational effectiveness successfully and strategically

·         Recommends compensation arrangements to positively motivate employees while ensuring equity amongst staff

·         Effectively mediate conflicts amongst staff in a timely manner to achieve a mutually satisfactory resolution

·         Effectively network and increase the firm's profile by attending seminars, trade conferences, and industry related events to cultivate business connections in all areas we serve, ultimately growing business

·         Ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements

·         Conducts solid individual performance evaluation providing honest feedback and recommendations on a semi and annual basis

·         Regularly visits bankers at remote offices to offer support and to provide leadership

·         All other duties as assigned

Requirements

·         Bachelor's degree in Finance or similar; Master's degree strongly preferred

·         FINRA Series 52/53, 24 and 63 licensures - active and in good standing

·         Minimum of ten (10) years of public finance or municipal bond investment banking experience

·         Five (5) or more years of direct team/employee management. (i.e.-hiring, terminations, reviews, etc.)

·         Possess thorough and current knowledge and understanding of the financial markets, Public Finance, and the municipal arena

·         Possess solid relationships with key external decision makers in the Public Finance arena

·         Self-motivated, disciplined, assertive and works well under pressure

·         Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate internally and externally

·         Able to trouble-shoot issues and problems and make a sound decision promptly in a fast-paced environment

·         Possess strong time management skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize projects to meet simultaneous, multiple deadlines

·         Team player with the ability to work cohesively with management, other departments, and colleagues

·         Able to address performance issues directly and honestly and provide an action plan when needed
