Regional Director of Clinical Operations

Summary: Reporting to the CEO and Physician-Owners, the Regional Director of Clinical Operations is responsible for managing the overall success of the Sarasota/Manatee region which consists of 20+ physician/APP dermatology providers across 7 locations. This individual provides the leadership, direction, administration and coordination of medical office activities within the defined region. This includes, but not limited to accountability for operations, customer service and patient care, financial performance, managing physician/APP and client relationships, strategic implementation, and team management.


Responsibilities:


Operational/Financial

  • Responsible for the daily oversight and operations of Company clinics in assigned division/region.
  • Maintains strong understanding of operational metrics, mentors and leads team in implementing plans to support clinics in achieving best practice performance for quality patient care, as well as physician and employee engagement.
  • Provide oversight and implementation of programs and processes that meet the corporate goals and objectives.
  • Works in collaboration with CEO and Physician-Owners on business development initiatives strategies including prospecting, physician recruitment and physician relations development.
  • Implements and monitors internal company processes and other standard work tools to ensure effective and efficient operations in line with company standards.
  • Implements initiatives and programs to ensure compliance with federal and state regulatory compliance programs and company policies.
  • Monitors business metrics related to financial and operational performance, including interfacing with support center departments responsible for data production and analysis.
  • Interface with other leaders within the organization as needed to resolve issues and successfully implement divisional goals and objectives.
  • Implements initiatives that effectively and efficiently support and meet clinic, division/regional, organizational, and regulatory goals and objectives through strong analytical capabilities, process improvement identification and implementation, and technology enhancements.
  • Ensures that all Arsenault Dermatology offices meet compliance and risk management goals. Works with Arsenault Dermatology managers to maintain clean, safe and presentable facilities in line with company guidelines.


Physician/APP Relationship Management

  • Responsible for working with physicians/APPs and local leadership to ensure effective and positive provider relations, patient experience, and team member engagement.
  • Meet regularly with the providers to understand their needs, resolve identified issues, and build relationships.
  • Manages provider concerns, patient complaints, and employee relations, escalating as required to administrative and support functions for assistance and effective resolution.
  • Coordinates and monitors contract changes.
  • Proactively addresses expectations and issues.
  • Understands and communicates local market issues within the assigned geographic area that impact the Company and physician/APPs through regular interaction.

 


Team Management

  • Recruit, train, develop and evaluate Arsenault Dermatology managers/supervisors and employees in line with the Company’s financial and customer/patient service goals.
  • Act as a liaison to ensure a strong sense of company culture within all Arsenault Dermatology locations.
  • Provide supervision, training, mentorship, and support to operations leadership staff at the clinics they oversee.
  • Collaborates regularly with other clinic leadership to improve processes that remove barriers to patient care.
  • Participate in the development and recommendation of corporate policies and procedures.
  • Oversees and is responsible for adequate clinic staffing. Works with leadership, as well as Human Resources, to develop a pipeline of effective leadership at the facility level.
  • Direct recruiting strategy for the assigned region to fulfill needs for short, mid- and long-term success and market development.

Required Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree from four-year college or university plus 10 plus years’ experience in physician practice management or healthcare management including extensive physician interface and a mastery of continuous quality improvement. Master’s Degree in health-related field strongly preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years management experience in a multi-site healthcare setting managing practice/clinic operations. Dermatology experience preferred.
  • 5+ years physician relations experience including business development, prospecting and recruitment.
  • Demonstrates understanding and working knowledge of physician contracts and applicable regulatory requirements at a local, state, and federal level related to practice management required.
  • Experience in data analysis, business intelligence, and EMR (preferably Modernizing Medicine (“EMA”)) required.
