Robert Half is currently seeking an experienced and dynamic Regional Controller to join our client's corporate finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled accounting and finance professional to provide financial leadership and oversight for an operating unit within a national title insurance company. The role is based in Tampa, FL, and requires in-office attendance.
Key Responsibilities:
As the Regional Controller, you will be responsible for a broad range of tasks that blend leadership with hands-on work. Your primary duties will include:
Accounting and Financial Analysis:
Manage all accounting issues, financial analysis, and internal control functions within the operating region.
Oversee the preparation and distribution of financial and operational reports.
Conduct P&L analysis and measure key operating metrics and drivers.
Operational Support and Reporting:
Act as a liaison between regional management, local administrative staff, and corporate finance for all financial matters.
Support regional leadership with ongoing reporting, measurement, and analysis.
Coordinate the monthly close process with operating offices and the corporate finance team.
Internal Controls and Compliance:
Maintain and monitor financial controls and systems within the region.
Review and approve journal entries and oversee balance sheet accounts, including accounts receivable.
Ensure compliance with regulatory data calls and timely submission of closing packages.
Budgeting and Planning:
Coordinate the annual budgeting and business planning process.
Perform financial analysis and industry research.
Measure and report key performance criteria and business metrics for each operating unit.
System Integration and Process Improvement:
Assist with the implementation of operational enhancements and cost-saving initiatives.
Work with locations to integrate local accounting systems with the company's month-end reporting process.
Contribute to the ongoing adoption and enhancement of the Workday ERP and other financial systems.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting (CPA preferred).
Minimum of 7 years of relevant work experience with thorough knowledge of GAAP.
Experience in title insurance or property insurance is a plus.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to prioritize, organize, and handle multiple projects.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and a keen interest in learning other automated applications.
Experience with Workday GL package and Office Connect is preferred.
