Reference Librarian

LAC Federal is seeking an experienced Reference Librarian to join their team. As a Reference Librarian at LAC Federal you will be responsible for providing reference services, assisting patrons with research requests, and supporting the overall efficiency of the library.

Your Responsibilities:

• Providing research & reference assistance; Answering reference questions in person, via email, or over the phone
• Working with data to develop library dashboards
• Supporting the Library acquisition process by preparing requisitions and following up on invoices
• Developing and maintaining library collections, including light cataloging
• Assisting with planning library outreach and training.
• Collaborating with other staff as needed.
  
  
  

Requirements

Your Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA-accredited institution
• Previous experience working as a Reference Librarian or in a similar role
• Strong knowledge of library resources, databases, and research techniques
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work well independently and in a team environment
• Proficiency in library management systems and technology
• Flexible schedule, including availability to work evenings and weekends as needed
