Job Title: Senior Consultant - RH Identity Management (IdM)

Location: Remote

Duration: 2 Months (Likely Extension)


Job Description:


Red Hat Identity Management:

  • Verifying prerequisites are met prior to installation
  • Installing Red Hat Identity Management servers and replicas customized to the client's requirements
  • Using a TLS certificate issued by the client's enterprise certificate authority
  • Configuring the Certificate Authority
  • Requesting external Certificate Authority and importing necessary certificates for the Admin Console
  • Creating a subdomain in enterprise DNS delegated to Red Hat Identity Management
  • Configuring NTP Server
  • Configuring a web browser to login to the web UI with a kerberos ticket
  • Creating automation for adding Red Hat Enterprise Linux servers as clients
  • Configuring ID view overrides for users
  • Creating up to three user and host groups
  • Creating up to five RBAC policies
  • Creating up to five HBAC rules
  • Creating up to five sudo rules
  • Configuring password strength requirements
  • Configuring SSSD customization
  • Setting up hidden replicas
  • Setting up and managing vaults
  • Creating a backup strategy
  • Demonstrating backup tools and simulating a recovery
  • Installing the health check tool and demonstrating the capabilities
  • Verifying network and other prerequisites are met for a successful cross-forest trust
  • Installing and configuring Trust Controllers and Trust Agents
  • Configuring up to three POSIX groups for Microsoft Active Directory users
  • Reviewing and modifying SSSD configuration to the Client's use case

Using automation for:

Registering Red Hat Enterprise Linux hosts as IdM clients


Conducting workshops and/or informal mentoring discussions for:

  • Discussing maintenance and system tuning
  • Reviewing REST API usage
  • Reviewing how standard identity operations will occur with the Microsoft Active Directory trust configured
  • How to scale cross forest trusts

Reviewing, revising, and documenting:

  • Strategic operational practices
  • Command line interface usage and examples
