Receiving Supervisor

We are looking for a Receiving Supervisor :

SUMMARY / OBJECTIVE:

Supervises, coordinates and work with the receiving team to load and unload products within the warehouse. Oversee accuracy of quantity of the product received and process all relevant paperwork. The incumbent is also responsible to inspect the incoming product for quality and quantity. It requires flexible early starting time and able to work on weekends and holidays.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Oversees incoming receiving activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments.
• Directs movement of materials from receiving platform to storage and work areas.
• Ensures proper usage and rotation of Produce inventory.
• Manage and maintained the labor cost of receiving dept.
• Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of personnel and department.
• Maintains harmony among personnel and resolves grievances.
• Special project assignments that are needed to resolve an on-going issue or assist in providing a long-term solution that allows departmental goals and corporate strategic initiatives to be met
• Cross department support
• Performs other assignments and duties as requested.
  
  

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ATTRIBUTES:

• Ability to manage the pressure associated with deadline-oriented atmosphere and customer service issues. Demonstrates skill in making independent decisions in support of company policies and procedures in a timely manner
• Ability to solve practical and analytical problems.
  
  

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:

• Must have minimum of 3 years warehouse management experience.
• Must have a background in the produce industry.
• Must be computer literate with a working knowledge of Windows, Word and Excel.
• Prefer bilingual in English/Spanish.
• Must be able to communicate effectively, i.e. meetings, employee reviews, reporting, etc.
• Certified Forklift Operator
  
  

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be able to lift and or move 50 pounds or more regularly.  
• Stand/walk up to 10 hours per shift; kneel/ squat occasionally  
• Work in a temperature-controlled environment (34 – 36°F )
