Job Summary
Join our team at the Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Lands and Minerals division as a Realty Specialist. This full-time position plays a pivotal role as an acquisition project manager, overseeing professional services related to real estate acquisition, negotiation, evaluation, and closing processes. The Realty Specialist coordinates all aspects of acquisition projects, serving as a liaison with external agencies and internal departments to ensure compliance with state statutes and departmental policies. A key aspect of this role involves proactive issue resolution to facilitate successful real estate transactions.
Location Options:
Upon selection, you can choose to work from one of the following locations: St. Paul, Bemidji, Grand Rapids, or New Ulm, MN. The specific location will be determined during the selection process.
Work Arrangement
This position offers a flexible work arrangement, including potential eligibility for full or part-time telework, subject to approval under a telework agreement.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Two (2) years of real estate experience, including title research, land surveying, drafting land leases, or acquiring/granting right of way. An Associate degree in Real Estate, Business, Economics, or a related field can substitute for one (1) year of experience.
Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
Proficiency in group facilitation and negotiation to resolve conflicts effectively.
Strong problem-solving abilities to address complex issues proactively.
Excellent organization and time management skills to manage multiple transactions and assignments.
Knowledge of real estate transactions, land and water use permits, and property rights.
Familiarity with legal descriptions and documents related to real estate.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Business, Economics, or a related field.
Experience with real estate transactions, leases, easements, or utility permits.
Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Understanding of governmental programs and operations.
Strong analytical skills for real estate appraisals or land valuations.
Additional Requirements
Valid Class D Driver's license with a clear driving record.
Ability to meet physical requirements and work in varying environmental conditions, with or without accommodations.
Eligibility to work in the United States and completion of required employment eligibility verification upon hire.
Successful completion of a background check, including conflict of interest review, criminal history check, education verification, employment reference check, and license/certification verification as per department policy.
