Must have command of PACS and be able to assist other staff members as needed.
Responsible for understanding and carrying out radiology requisitions and views.
Memorize what views each physician requires on exams.
Assist patients in getting into the positions required to get the radiographs needed with the occasional need to lift the patient.
Take X-rays following established procedures for patient care and safety.
Stock necessary supplies.
Use a variety of radiation protection and shielding materials.
Assist with and provides direct training and supervision to student technologists.
Ensure equipment is in working order. Reports any malfunction to supervisor in a timely manner.
Education required:
Graduate from an accredited two-year radiology program or equivalent military program.
Must be registered in radiography.
Special qualifications required:
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through American Red Cross or American Heart Association
Knowledge of radiographic technique
Knowledge of PACS
Vast knowledge of musculoskeletal anatomy.
Ability to work independently and have working knowledge of HIPAA requirements.
This position may require travel to and from satellite clinics as assigned.
