Radiation Therapy Medical Physicist

Position Summary: The Wood County Hospital, in northwest Ohio, is seeking a motivated medical physicist to provide clinical radiation oncology physics services. The ideal candidate will join 1 other medical physicist, 2 physicians, and remote dosimetrists in providing service to the Maumee, and Bowling Green locations. The primary responsibility will be the Maumee campus which is affiliated with the Karmanos Cancer Institute. The location is equipped with a Philips CT-simulator with 4DCT capabilities and a TrueBeam accelerator with HyperArc, RPM gating, 6 DoF couch, and Identify surface guidance system. Treatment planning and EMR are Varian Eclipse and Aria platforms. The facility has a robust IMRT, VMAT, IGRT, respiratory gating, SRS, and SBRT programs. This will be an excellent opportunity for a physicist looking to work independently with an experienced support staff to rely on when needed.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Support of routine and non-routine clinical service for external beam therapy: perform 3D and IMRT/VMAT/SRS/SRT/SBRT planning review; perform double check calculation; perform treatment chart and R&V review; perform weekly chart review; perform EOT chart review.
• Serve as the State of Ohio certified radiation expert (CRE) for the facility.
• Perform radiation therapy equipment QA based on TG 142, TG 51 and related guidelines. Reports of all the QA work shall be provided and be on site for inspection.
• Conduct acceptance test and perform commissioning of new radiotherapy equipment and software including maintenance releases for clinical use.
• Ensures compliance with the Radiation Safety Program within the guidelines of the Ohio Department of Health (ODH) and the American College of Radiology (ACR).
