Quality Supervisor/Quality Manager Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Quality Control Supervisor/Manager to lead our QC Department . The Quality Control Supervisor/Manager understands the customer's needs and requirements and ensures our products meet industry quality standards . This position is accountable for our Quality System and provides the leadership necessary to lead our quality directive throughout the organization. The ideal candidate will have a background in fastener manufacturing.

To be successful as our Quality Control Supervisor/Manager, you should have excellent communication and listening skills, with strong observational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. You should be familiar with the implementation and maintaining of ISO9001 and ISO 17025 Accreditations.

Quality Supervisor/Quality Manager Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the quality of our products.
  • Devising, improving, and reviewing new specifications and procedures for products or processes, and training staff to use them.
  • Setting the requirements for raw materials and gages from suppliers and monitoring their compliance.
  • Supervising inspectors, technicians, and other staff members and providing guidance.
  • Inspecting the final output, comparing it to the requirements, and approving or rejecting the final products.
  • Keeping accurate documentation and performing statistical analysis.
  • Gaining feedback from the clients, attending meetings, submitting reports, and assisting external auditors and inspectors.

Quality Control Manager Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong attention to detail, observation, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of quality control procedures
  • Direct and coordinate testing of finished and semi-finished sample specimens to determine if metallurgical, physical properties and dimensional features meet manufacturing specifications.
  • Assign personnel to specific work assignments.
  • Review test reports to determine if physical characteristics of sample specimens meet metallurgical specifications and quality control standards.
  • Investigate causes of defective material and advise supervisory personnel of the production departments or sublet vendors responsible for processing defects.
  • Determine disposition of substandard material, according the established precedent or upon approval of superior, such as downgrading, reprocessing or scrapping of material.
  • Advises metallurgical personnel on problems involving quality control and testing techniques, methods and on application of metallurgical specifications to metal products.
  • Investigate causes of erroneous testing and issue corrective action notices.
  • Participate in the selection of laboratory/inspection staff.
  • Responsible for ensuring all laboratory practices and policies documented in the Quality Control Manual and Quality Control Procedures are adhered to.
  • Experience with internal and external auditing.
  • Responsible for the calibration and maintenance of all laboratory testing equipment, as well as documentation.
  • Responsible for Calibration (internally or externally) of all measuring instruments used in our plant.

Periodic Job Functions:

  • Provide training and testing of proficiency for all laboratory staff, provides documentation.
  • Conduct annual performance appraisals of all laboratory staff.
  • Assist in our A2LA and ISO Certification process.

Specific Requirements:

  • Ability to use Outside Micrometers, Depth Misc., Calipers, 6” or 12” scale screwdrivers, wrenches pliers and Optical Comparator, dial indicator and snap gages.
  • Ability to use in-house computer systems.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks.
