As a Quality Specialist in Food Manufacturing, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety, quality, and compliance of our food products. You will work within our dynamic engineering team to implement and maintain our quality assurance systems. This is an excellent opportunity to apply your expertise in food safety and quality assurance to make a significant impact on our business and contribute to our commitment to delivering high-quality food products to our customers.
Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and maintain food safety and quality assurance systems in compliance with regulatory standards such as GFSI, FDA, and PCQI.
Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with food safety standards, identify potential risks, and develop corrective actions.
Utilize Tracegains software to manage supplier documentation and ensure the quality of imported and exported food products.
Review and approve food product labels to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address quality issues and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
Provide training and guidance to the production team on food safety and quality assurance procedures.
Monitor and analyze quality performance data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Lead investigations into quality issues and customer complaints, and develop effective resolutions.
Ensure compliance with import/export regulations and manage all related documentation.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality assurance within the food manufacturing industry.
Certified in GFSI, FDA, PCQI, or equivalent food safety standards.
Proficiency in Tracegains or similar quality management software.
Experience in reviewing and approving food product labels.
Bilingual in English and Spanish, with excellent communication skills.
In-depth knowledge of import/export regulations in the food industry.
Experience in RTE (Ready-to-Eat) food products is highly desirable.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to influence others.
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
