General Summary
This position is responsible for assisting the Quality Manager, Quality Engineers, and Metallurgist with the execution of their responsibilities on a daily basis. The Quality Supervisor is expected to demonstrate leadership qualities, be self- motivated, available and flexible with scheduling and overtime, assists in training and mentoring peers, communicate with the other shifts and is responsible for supervising and training the hourly workforce while monitoring daily activities of the quality area.
Principle Duties And Responsibilities
Prioritize work schedules; plan, organize, assign tasks and evaluate completed work
Recommend process improvements and other enhancements to increase operating efficiency
Supervise Quality Control Technicians across all 3 shifts and be able to fill-in for Technicians
Perform various quality tasks throughout the plant
Complete scrap analysis and problem solving
Assist with RMA’s
Document control of the MOS
Conduct Work Instruction and Part audits
Revise Visual Standards
Understand GageTrack and manage gauge calibration process and MSA studies
Assist in Safe Launch procedures
Complete LPAs, Internal and External Quality Audits
Performs minor upkeep/maintenance on testing machines/equipment
Participate/Lead 5S activities
Keep work area clean by performing various housekeeping activities
May be assigned other duties as needed
Knowledge, Skill, And Ability Requirements
Ability to demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to effectively organize multiple tasks.
Knowledge and ability to utilize a PC and related software – PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
Use and understand gauges used in performing tasks.
Education And Experience Requirements
A.A. degree or 3+ years of previous experience in green sand foundry finishing and quality department practices, principles, equipment, etc. preferred.
Willingness to obtain ASQ CQT or complete a Certified Quality Engineer course
