Job Description

You will contribute to our business’ success, navigating a very dynamic and fast-paced environment while solving various technical issues relating to complex gas turbine combustion components. You may participate in daily Gemba meetings where part/project priorities are highlighted as they relate to both standard production and various development initiatives. At times, you will be on the shop floor closely working with the operators to solve or improve quality issues. You will collaborate daily with manufacturing engineers, production, and repair network to insure quality processes and products.

How You’ll Make An Impact

  • Ensures manufacturing and quality processes are clearly defined and communicated from manufacturing engineering to the shop floor via technical instructions and quality control charts.
  • Develops and implements product-specific quality processes utilizing sound engineering judgment and methodologies
  • Ensures quality requirements are met during component manufacturing to internal and customer requirements
  • Perform process audits and runs continuous improvement projects
  • Detect and track non-conformances and lead the process of root cause analysis and corrective and preventive measure definition
  • Support the repair business in all quality aspects as well as all thermal spray quality issues within the Combustion department

What You Bring

  • Candidate should have BS in Engineering or Manufacturing related degree
  • Ability to apply continuous improvement methods to increase manufacturing quality, efficiency, reliability, and cost effectiveness
  • Familiarity with gas turbine combustion hardware – specifically transition ducts and combustor baskets and the methods of manufacturing these parts i.e. CNC programming/machining, welding/fabrication, laser drilling, and thermal spray coatings
  • Experience with project and schedule management
  • Preferred candidate should be familiar with Lean and or Six Sigma philosophies and their application in process capability and improvement
  • Must be detail-oriented and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Preferred at least 5 years’ experience in the energy or manufacturing industry, however would be open to new graduates with the correct ambition and skill sets.
