Quality Control Technician

We would love to have you join our team and fill our opening for a Day Shift position as a Quality Control Technician in our Upfit & Installation Center at 2177 St. Rt. 19., in Bucyrus, OH.

How You Will Contribute

The Quality Technician will be responsible for working in the Installation Department, performing duties and responsibilities to include the following:

  • Performs Final Inspection of all trucks prior to shipment to ensure all specified visual or functional checks identified by Henderson Products or customer as applicable are completed.
  • Completes Delivery Paperwork as defined for truck prior to its shipment.
  • Completes the Receiving Inspection of all truck chassis at time of receipt along with associated documentation.
  • Reviews the return of any trucks for Warranty claims verifying conditions noted, notifies management team and performs return inspection prior to dispatch on completed claims.
  • Together with supervision, communicates to applicable areas Quality Notifications of findings from Final Inspections and Warranty Returns.
  • Has competencies to complete Installation Technician duties as assigned when situation arises.
  • Must use variety of skills, such as troubleshooting, welding, operation of plasma or cutting torch.
  • Works efficiently by the establishment and ongoing improvement of performance standards.
  • Maintains records of inspections to track activities ensuring work is documented and on file.
  • Knows and understands technical information and specifications of the proper installation of all products.
  • Organizes work so all inspections are completed efficiently and in a timely manner.
  • Pays close attention to detail, works to achieve error-free performance.
  • Utilizes proper techniques in the use of all tools, equipment, etc.
  • Aware of, and follows, all safety standards and requirements.
  • Has responsibility for public contact, requiring courtesy, discretion, and sound judgment.
  • Maintains a professional attitude with attention to personal appearance.
  • Knowledge of product accessories and services to assist customers in applications.
  • Communicate issues/items of importance to appropriate management personnel.
  • Pays close attention to cleanliness and orderliness of assigned work area.
  • Responsible for other duties as assigned.

What This Role Needs

Mechanical Skills: Knowledge and practical experience of the processes/operations of assigned work area. Must be certifiable in Fork Truck operations, welding, and other applications as applicable. Preferred but not mandatory able to obtain CDL.

Technical Skills: Ability to weld. Ability to run hand plasma and cutting torch. Ability to read and understand blueprints. Must understand shop order process, reporting and basic EMS system requirements. Must understand weld inspection, types/gauges of steel, and shop math

Personal Requirements: Ability to work with minimum supervision. Excellent problem-solving skills, ability to work well with internal and external customers; good communication skills a must; ability to lift 50# with continuous lifting of lightweight materials. High energy team player. Willing to develop abilities to maximum potential, and to stay abreast of latest industry-related advancements.

Education And Work Experience

  • High School Degree
  • Associate degree from Vocational/Trade school, or equivalent work experience helpful.

Working Conditions

  • Ability to lift/push up to 50 lbs.
  • Bending, lifting, and standing
  • Exposure to noise and weld and grinding smoke at times
