The Opportunity

Join our team as a Quality Assurance Manager, where you will play a pivotal role in promoting and advancing food safety and bio-security. You will facilitate continuous quality improvements and manage the QA laboratory and product release, ensuring our products meet the highest standards. This full time position will report to the Senior Quality Assurance Manager and duties include but are not limited to;

  • Quality and Safety Leadership : Organize, coordinate, and champion the Quality System and Food Safety Systems in accordance with SQF requirements. Lead the Quality Pillar and drive continuous improvements for zero quality defects utilizing GPS tools and principles.
  • Product Excellence : Ensure all our internal and external processes are fully capable of delivering premium products to customers on a timely basis. Ensure lab results are produced quickly and accurately to match customer’s specifications.
  • Supplier Compliance : Evaluate and monitor ingredients, packaging, and processing aid suppliers for compliance with the Vendor Assurance Policy.
  • Customer Satisfaction : Ensure customer specifications are met, manage complaint investigations, and coordinate timely responses on customer opportunities.
  • Audit Participation : Participate in all State, FDA, USDA, PMO, and other third-party audits ensuring corrective actions are completed and documented.
  • Employee Training : Ensure employees have adequate knowledge of GMP’s and Food Safety programs and supervise that training is completed per requirements and is effective.
  • Data Management : Responsible for SAP Master Data maintenance and changes for product testing plans and customer specifications and COA set up and changes.
  • Safety and Regulatory Compliance : Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources. Comply with all applicable food safety regulations and mandates (Safe Quality Foods, Food and Drug Admin, Pasteurized Milk Ordinance).

Skills

The Skills you will bring to the team

  • Education and Experience : Requires a Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university and a minimum of 4 years related experience.
  • Communication Skills : Ability to write speeches and articles for publication, effectively present information to various groups, and respond to inquiries or complaints from customers and the business community.
  • Analytical Skills : Ability to read, analyze, and interpret various types of documents and data, apply mathematical operations to tasks, and define problems to draw valid conclusions.
  • Technical Proficiency : Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
  • Project Management : Ability to prioritize tasks, handle multiple projects simultaneously, and delegate assignments to others.
  • Safety Compliance : Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures, and report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources.
  • Teamwork : Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
  • Leadership : Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.
