Quality Assurance Lead

Location: Cincinnati, Ohio (Local candidates only, must commute onsite 2 days per week)

Compensation: Up to $75/Hour

Contract Type: Contract opportunity with the potential for extension or full-time conversion

Overview:

Kroger is seeking a seasoned QA Lead or Senior QA Specialist to join our Center of Excellence (CoE). The CoE plays a pivotal role in providing robust support across the organization, particularly when new applications or technologies are introduced, or in-house expertise is needed as third-party vendor contracts conclude. This flexible team is adept at filling gaps in the technical stack as required, ensuring seamless integration and performance of Kroger’s technology solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the Center of Excellence at Kroger, providing critical support across the organization.
• Manage and develop comprehensive training materials to ensure the team is well-prepared for any challenges.
• Act as a subject matter expert in end-to-end testing, with a focus on UI Testing, Mobile Testing, or API Testing.
• Represent the Kroger QA CoE, leveraging broad and deep technical experience to support and mentor the team.
• Support and enhance QA automation for various products, including Postman, Karate, and others.
• Facilitate the adoption of best practices and tools, explaining their value to teams to aid in tool selection and implementation.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in end-to-end testing with a strong grasp of QA methodologies.
• Subject matter expertise in at least one of the following areas: UI Testing, Mobile Testing, API Testing.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and mentor other testers.
• Technical expertise in QA automation tools such as Postman, Karate, Appium, Playwright, Selenium WebdriverIO.
• Previous experience in leading or mentoring a group focused on best practices is highly desirable.
• Experience in Retail or Supply Chain domains is a plus.

Desired Skills:

• Experience with the Karate Framework (API, UI).
• Proficiency in Mobile Testing with tools like Appium.
• Familiarity with Playwright or Selenium WebdriverIO.
• Ability to explain the value of tools to teams for effective selection and implementation.
