The Quality Assurance (QA) Automation Engineer is a member of the data analytics team and is responsible for the analysis, design, and development of the QA process. The QA Engineer will use their knowledge and technical skills to apply the principles of quality assurance engineering to assist with evolving testing practices, ensuring quality standards, and leading defect management.
Primary Job Responsibilities
Develops and executes test plans, test cases, and test scripts for frontend and backend systems.
Performs manual and automated testing to ensure the quality and reliability of our products/services.
Collaborates with developers, Product Managers, and other stakeholders to identify and prioritize test cases and business goals.
Identifies, documents, and tracks software defects to resolution.
Utilizes tools and frameworks for automated testing, such as Selenium, PyTest, or similar.
Participates in code reviews and provides feedback on code quality and testability.
Performs regression testing, performance testing, and load testing as needed.
Stays updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies in software testing.
Collaborates closely with all other members of the team to take shared responsibility for the overall efforts that the team has committed to for each sprint.
Establishes and maintains positive working relationships with other members of the organization across departments, divisions, and locations.
Maintains the confidentiality of proprietary and sensitive information, exercising sound judgment and discretion in any disclosure of information related to EM and its endeavors.

Required Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or demonstrated equivalent knowledge and critical thinking skills preferred
At least 3-5 years of experience in software quality assurance, with a focus on frontend and backend systems
Prior experience with automated testing tools and frameworks
Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Prior experience with Azure Data Factory or similar data integration systems preferred
Prior experience with load testing tools such as Apache JMeter or Gatling preferred
Hands on experience working with Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines preferred
Strong understanding of software development lifecycle and Agile methodologies
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in Python and JavaScript for test automation and scripting
Familiarity with Redgate Tools

WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is conducted primarily in an indoor office environment with protection from weather conditions and with exposure to noise typical of an office or administrative setting.

Lifting and carrying up to 20 lbs.; Frequent sitting, standing, walking, and bending; occasional kneeling, reaching, and stooping; handling office equipment; periodic driving may be required; visual acuity to prepare, read, and organize detailed hard copy and electronic documents; ability to speak and to hear the spoken word in normal face-to-face, web-based, and telephonic business communications. Willingness to travel in a work capacity, including occasional evening, overnight, and weekend hours. Willingness to accommodate occasional meetings and work activities that may be scheduled after normal daytime business hours.
