Austin Bridge & Road has an outstanding opportunity for a Quality Control Manager in North Texas. The Quality Control Manager provides first-class quality control management services and assists the Project Leadership team with day-to-day functions. The potential candidates for this role must be a proven leader, have an uncompromising emphasis on safety excellence and will have responsibilities that include but are not limited to:


Essential Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the quality control functions at assigned project(s).
  • Responsible for managing and implementing quality control standards and overseeing the inspection of production output to assure compliance with customer specifications.
  • Developing Quality Control Technicians and monitoring their work.
  • Develop a career path for QC/QA Technicians assigned to your project(s).
  • Evaluating and recommending the resources necessary to meet our quality goals.


Qualifications:

  • Extensive knowledge of FAA and TxDOT specifications.
  • Extensive knowledge of construction material testing, reporting and construction procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with senior management to accelerate the improvement and differentiation of existing products.
  • Proven ability to supervise, train, and develop Quality Control Technicians.
  • Able to present and explain a career path for Quality Control Technicians.


Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Development and Management of the project Quality Control Program required by project specifications.
  • Development of project submittal schedule along with submittal review for compliance with projects specifications.
  • Maintain Quality Control records required by project specification.
  • Schedule sampling, testing, and reporting for scopes of work under quality control specifications and test procedures.
  • Evaluate Quality Control Technician daily reports, test data and write daily production reports.
  • Recommend modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality.
  • Maintain constant communication with the QA/QC Supervisor and Plant Manager to ensure materials being used for the concrete and hot mix asphalt designs are working and will work for its intended purpose.


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Technology / Construction Management or related field of study is strongly preferred. Will consider an Associate’s Degree with 8-10 years of proven direct industry experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in airport and/or highway construction Quality Control.
  • Certifications in Soils, Concrete and Hot Mix Asphalt Testing preferred.


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit at a desk and work on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.
