Purchasing Specialist

WEI has an exciting opportunity for a Purchasing Specialist to join our Operations team.

The Purchasing Specialist position is responsible for reviewing vendor quotes, securing the best pricing, managing purchase orders and inventory, and maintaining strong vendor relationships. This key position ensures compliance with company policies, collaborates with internal teams, and drives continuous improvement in procurement processes, contributing positively to the company's success.

Responsibilities

  • Review vendor quotes for accuracy.
  • Determine best pricing options.
  • Update pricing information.
  • Confirm order details, quantities, and delivery schedules with vendors.
  • Manage digital inventory effectively to ensure accurate stock levels.
  • Generate and process purchase orders ensuring POs are complete, accurate, and comply with company policies.
  • Send POs to vendors and confirm receipt.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with vendors.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions with vendors to secure favorable pricing and delivery and payment terms.
  • Address and resolve any issues related to order discrepancies.
  • Liaise with the sales team, inventory team, and other relevant departments to align purchasing activities with company goals for the successful outcome of all orders.
  • Provide regular updates on order status and any potential delays or issues.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks related to procurement activities.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance workflows and processes.
  • Follow company policies and procedures to maintain compliance and operational integrity.
  • Perform additional duties as requested to support departmental objectives.

Abilities:

  • Communicate effectively with vendors and internal teams.
  • Exhibit proficiency with internal tools, workflows, and processes to streamline operations.
  • Apply working knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, and CRM tools such as Tigerpaw (if applicable) to perform job functions efficiently.
  • Thrive in a collaborative, cross-functional environment, demonstrating the ability to work well across different teams and functions.
  • Demonstrate adaptability to manage changing priorities and multiple tasks simultaneously in a demanding environment.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or high school diploma with experience in the following roles - Procurement, Order Administration, Sales Operations, Supply Chain Management, Inventory Management
