As a purchasing assistant you will assist the purchasing manager with sourcing equipment, goods, and services, and managing vendors. The successful candidate will need to be self-motivated, and able to manage multiple projects and assignments at the same time.
Responsibilities:
Assist in the purchasing process including buying, selling and distribution
Assist in reviewing new project proposals for the company
Conduct regular purchase order reviews, and follow up on outstanding items
Identify ideal suppliers based on quality, cost and reliability
Interface with other departments on product needs
Support property managers with warranty process as needed
Determine quantity and timing of deliveries
Collaborate with inventory control and sales to develop metrics for gauging and forecasting inventory level needs and then maintaining those levels throughout the year
Other duties as assigned/needed
Requirements:
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Purchasing or inventory experience preferred
Strong customer service and follow-up skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proficiency with MS Excel necessary
Proficiency or experience with inventory management systems preferred (we use Fishbowl)
Familiarity with sourcing and vendor management preferred
Good networking skills
Strong teamworking skills
