Public Relations Intern - Buffalo Sabres & Buffalo Bandits

Summary

Game-night interns will be responsible for assisting the communications staff on game nights and special events. The position is meant to be an initial experience in sports communication and the game-night interns will be involved in a wide range of activities related to the communication operations of the Buffalo Sabres and Buffalo Bandits.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with credential distribution and greeting media
  • Press box setup and operations
  • Distribute period stats/game notes, run materials to broadcast trucks, assist with in-game notes
  • Record home and visitor player audio, record postgame coach press conferences, assist with putting together postgame media email

Minimum Qualifications for the Position:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Pursing a degree in public relations, journalism or a related field, sports experience a plus
  • Strong writing skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
  • Available to work evening, weekend, holiday hours as needed

  • Strong attention to detail, grammar and proofreading skills
  • Flexible and able to adapt in high-pressure situations
  • Hard-working personality

Compensation

  • This role pays $15.00 an hour
