We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Public Health Officer (PHO) to lead public health initiatives and promote community wellness within our jurisdiction. The PHO will be responsible for assessing public health needs, developing policies and programs, and collaborating with stakeholders to address health disparities and improve population health outcomes. , Qualifications

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Master of Public Health (MPH) degree from an accredited institution. Board certification in public health or preventive medicine preferred.
  • Experience in public health practice, with demonstrated leadership and expertise in program management, policy development, and community engagement.
  • Knowledge of public health principles, epidemiology, health promotion, and disease prevention strategies.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a diverse and multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Proficiency in data analysis, epidemiological methods, and statistical software.
  • Familiarity with public health laws, regulations, and accreditation standards.
  • Must have a valid U.S. passport due to contract requirements.

Requirements:

  • Public Health Assessment:Conduct assessments of community health needs, epidemiological trends, and social determinants of health to identify priority areas for intervention and resource allocation.
  • Policy Development:Develop, implement, and evaluate public health policies, programs, and interventions to address priority health issues, such as infectious diseases, chronic conditions, and health disparities.
  • Disease Surveillance and Control:Monitor and respond to communicable diseases, outbreaks, and public health emergencies. Coordinate disease surveillance activities, conduct investigations, and implement control measures to prevent the spread of disease.
  • Health Promotion and Education:Develop and implement health promotion and education campaigns to raise awareness and promote healthy behaviors among community members. Collaborate with local organizations, schools, and media outlets to disseminate health information and resources.
  • Community Partnerships:Build and maintain partnerships with local government agencies, healthcare providers, community organizations, and stakeholders to leverage resources and coordinate public health efforts. Foster collaboration and engagement to address community health needs effectively.
  • Environmental Health:Assess and address environmental health hazards and risks that impact public health, such as air and water quality, food safety, and vector-borne diseases. Implement preventive measures and regulations to protect community health and safety.
  • Emergency Preparedness and Response:Develop and implement emergency preparedness plans and protocols to respond to natural disasters, public health emergencies, and other crises. Coordinate with emergency management agencies and healthcare partners to ensure a coordinated response.
  • Data Analysis and Evaluation:Collect, analyze, and interpret health data to evaluate program effectiveness, monitor health trends, and inform decision-making. Prepare reports, presentations, and recommendations for stakeholders and policymakers.

Compensation | Min: $103,000 Max: $144,000

Pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographical market data.
