Job Summary/Basic Function
The Department of Psychology at Middle Tennessee State University invites applicants for a full-time, temporary (non-tenurable) faculty position (#120080) at the rank of lecturer. This is a one-year temporary appointment with a possible annual renewal for up to three years. The start date for the appointment is August 1, 2024.
The successful candidate will teach various courses, including general psychology, creativity, social psychology, personality, developmental psychology, statistics, training and development, organizational psychology, group dynamics, and learning theories to undergraduate and high school dual enrollment students.
When teaching online, the lecturer must be regularly and predictably available to online students in class and during office hours. The posted online office hours should be the same number of hours as required of full-time lecturers teaching on-campus courses. The selected candidate must be a resident of Tennessee by the appointment date and occasionally meet with the department chair or administrators. Travel expenses are the responsibility of the faculty member. Before beginning online courses, the lecturer must receive the appropriate training to teach online classes for MTSU.
Required Education
A master’s degree in psychology is required by the appointment date.
Other Desirables
Applicants with teaching experience or a PhD in psychology will receive special consideration.
