Voy has been retained by a high-profile international real estate investments holdings company for a Controller search in LA. Our Client is backed by one of the world’s largest engineering & construction companies and our client’s current portfolio in the US spans investments from luxury hotels to premium rentals to creative retail spaces.


The Property Controller is responsible for day to day accounting for a portfolio of commercial properties which include financial reporting, general ledger financial analysis, cash flow management, financial planning & analysis and monthly/yearly budget variances for projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and analyze accurate financial reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Conduct variance analysis to identify discrepancies and recommend improvements.
  • Collaborate on property budgets and forecasts, offering strategic financial insights.
  • Maintain and reconcile property-specific general ledgers.
  • Perform cost-benefit analysis for capital expenditures and investment decisions.
  • Track and analyze project costs, implementing cost control measures to maximize profitability.
  • Prepare financial statements, bank reconciliations, and assist with cash flow forecasting.
  • Support the preparation of yearly budgets and quarterly forecasts.


What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5-10+ years of relevant accounting experience in commercial real estate.
  • Knowledge of project accounting concepts, including percentage of completion techniques.
  • Familiarity with Yardi is preferred.
  • A proactive and persistent approach to presenting recommendations.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively at all levels.
  • Sound judgment and decision-making abilities.
