Job Description
Proofreads a variety of technical documents comprised of both text and figures, and marks for correction any grammatical, typographical, or compositional errors by performing the following duties.

The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Working Conditions
The employee is expected to work the hours necessary to complete his/her work
Education And Experience Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required. Ideal candidate will either possess or be pursuing an English or Technical Writing degree.

Job Description
Proofreads a variety of technical documents comprised of both text and figures, and marks for correction any grammatical, typographical, or compositional errors by performing the following duties.
Essential Functions
- Prepares and mails letter to client to inform their patent has been proofread, errors found, and corrections requested
- Reads copy of issued patent against proof mailed to Patent and Trademark Office (PTO) to identify and mark grammatical or typographical errors that appear in issued patent
- Submits letter to PTO noting errors identified, as well as Certificate of Correction and pays the fee with the firm credit card for correction
- Submits memo to responsible attorney noting errors identified in issued patent and requesting permission to prepare Certificate of Correction to submit to PTO
- Thorough understanding of English language, especially grammar and spelling
- A high level of concentration and attention to detail
- Ability to meet deadlines
