Innovation Lab Project Coordinator

Remote, this position is 100% telework

Summary: The GU Center for Child & Human Development (Center) is dedicated to fostering a stronger society by promoting the wellbeing of ALL children, adults and families and creating more inclusive communities. We execute this mission through research, training & technical assistance, scholarship and thought leadership. The Center seeks to hire a Project Coordinator to support the launch of an Innovation Lab to bring the work of the Center to a wide range of audiences working to make a big impact in the child and family development world.


Tasks/Skills: The Project Coordinator will work closely with the Lab founder and leadership team to provide administrative and program management support for the Innovation Lab. The Project Coordinator will support the Lab development and research efforts leading up to and through the launch of the Lab, and will support the work of the Lab with partners, sponsors and other individuals and organizations that will participate in Lab programming.


Duties and responsibilities:

• Support the organization and execution of the program.

• Event and workshop planning and preparation (for virtual and in-person events).

• Engage with Lab ecosystem partners and innovation founders to plan activities, meetings and events that accelerate the success of the Lab and participating entities.

• Support with calendar and logistics management for mentors, partners, founders and general programming.

• Help research and develop ecosystem analysis, best practices and curriculum of the program.

• Represent the Lab in relevant community and ecosystem events.


Academic Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree, with a minimum of 2 years of experience in fast-paced project or program management focused position.


Technical Requirements

• Demonstrated interest in innovation through technology, research, or new program development.

• Experience in event planning and event logistics.

• Strong proficiency in online productivity and data management tools and applications.

• Comfortable with a variety of responsibilities, proactive, and able to jump in without being asked and a “no task is too small or too big” attitude.

• Ability to effectively prioritize, organize and collaborate, especially on multiple projects with competing priorities simultaneously.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Strong emotional intelligence, active listening skills, and high level of empathy

• educational or professional background in child development, psychology, public health or similar. Background knowledge and demonstrated interest in these content areas is preferred.

• Proficiency working with “no code” and automation tools like Airtable, Notion, Zapier, Hubspot and other project management tools strongly preferred.
