The main function of a non-IT project manager is to plan, direct, or coordinate activities for the physical security team.
Job Responsibilities
Draft and submit purchase orders; follow up on progress to track approvals
Project manage security initiatives by engaging with stakeholders, designing schedules, assessing risks, managing budget, tracking progress, and escalating issues as appropriate
Develop and manage tracking systems (spreadsheets, calendars, etc.) for purchase orders, supplier engagements, and contracts
Collect, compile, and verify data from stakeholders and known data sources
Research and onboard new suppliers
Investigate new sources of data
Investigate and learn new technologies to support the Datacenter Physical Security (DCPS) program
Create content for distribution by collaborating with subject matter experts
Create agendas for meetings, manage meetings, and take meeting notes to distribute to attendees
Report on project status updates to stakeholders and senior leadership
Create PowerPoint presentations
Act as point of contact and back-up to the primary point of contact
Conduct research on behalf of the point of contact
Own and update a variety of process documents, job aids, templates, and checklists
Document and provide weekly progress updates on goals and milestones achieved
Maintain a customer service approach to problem-solving and work with stakeholders to find solutions to their questions or concerns
Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the overall success of the Datacenter Physical Security (DCPS) program at the direction of the point of contact.
Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
2-4 years of relevant experience required
2 years of PM experience
Proficient with MS Excel and PowerPoint
Basic knowledge of purchase orders, contracts, and financial processes
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and interpersonal skills
Basic ability to work independently and manage one’s time
Basic knowledge of purchase orders, contracts, and financial processes
Basic knowledge of project management
Basic knowledge of computer software, such as MS Word, MS Project, Visio etc.
