The main function of a non-IT project manager is to plan, direct, or coordinate activities for the physical security team.
Job Responsibilities
- Draft and submit purchase orders; follow up on progress to track approvals
- Project manage security initiatives by engaging with stakeholders, designing schedules, assessing risks, managing budget, tracking progress, and escalating issues as appropriate
- Develop and manage tracking systems (spreadsheets, calendars, etc.) for purchase orders, supplier engagements, and contracts
- Collect, compile, and verify data from stakeholders and known data sources
- Research and onboard new suppliers
- Investigate new sources of data
- Investigate and learn new technologies to support the Datacenter Physical Security (DCPS) program
- Create content for distribution by collaborating with subject matter experts
- Create agendas for meetings, manage meetings, and take meeting notes to distribute to attendees
- Report on project status updates to stakeholders and senior leadership
- Create PowerPoint presentations
- Act as point of contact and back-up to the primary point of contact
- Conduct research on behalf of the point of contact
- Own and update a variety of process documents, job aids, templates, and checklists
- Document and provide weekly progress updates on goals and milestones achieved
- Maintain a customer service approach to problem-solving and work with stakeholders to find solutions to their questions or concerns
- Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the overall success of the Datacenter Physical Security (DCPS) program at the direction of the point of contact.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- 2-4 years of relevant experience required
- 2 years of PM experience
- Proficient with MS Excel and PowerPoint
- Basic knowledge of purchase orders, contracts, and financial processes
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and interpersonal skills
- Basic ability to work independently and manage one’s time
- Basic knowledge of purchase orders, contracts, and financial processes
- Basic knowledge of project management
- Basic knowledge of computer software, such as MS Word, MS Project, Visio etc.
