Job Summary

Reporting to the Director of New Store Opening Strategy, As the Project Manager of New Store Openings you will play a key role from strategic planning to execution in ensuring that each new store opening is a seamless and successful venture. You will be entrusted with the responsibility of orchestrating and overseeing the flawless launch of our high-end beauty retail locations. This role requires a seasoned project management professional with a deep understanding of retail operations and the ability to pull together members across the entire business to coordinate these openings. Other duties as assigned.

This is a remote field position with necessary travel - 2x a month for a week at time.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning and Strategy:

  • Develop and communicate comprehensive project plans outlining key milestones, timelines, and resource requirements for new store openings.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define strategic goals, ensuring alignment with the overall company objectives.

Site Preparation And Setup

  • Partner with the construction team on the structural readiness of the store ensuring adherence to brand standards, local regulations, and timelines.

Assortment Planning and Store Presentation

  • Work with merchant teams to identify optimal assortments for each location
  • Collaborate with Store Environments team to implement visually appealing and optimal store layouts.
  • Work with Visual Merchandising to ensure that all visual merchandising elements contribute to an inviting and customer-centric shopping environment.

Logistics And Inventory Management

  • Coordinate logistics for the timely delivery and setup of initial inventory, fixtures, and equipment.
  • Collaborate with the supply chain team to manage inventory levels, minimizing stockouts and excess stock during the launch phase.

Team Coordination And Training

  • Work with Recruiting, HR, and Store Leadership to ensure top talent is identified qualified candidates are hired for each location.
  • Work with the Education and Stores Leadership team to execute comprehensive training programs to ensure operational and brand knowledge readiness for the new store opening.

Operational Readiness

  • Oversee the setup and functionality of all systems, equipment, and technology required for store operations.
  • Oversee a team dedicated to travel for new store set-ups the week leading up to opening including setting all equipment, fixtures, merchandise, and collateral.

Marketing And Grand Opening Events

  • Work closely with the marketing and event teams to plan and execute grand opening events, promotional activities, and community engagement initiatives.
  • Develop strategies to generate excitement, drive foot traffic, and build brand awareness in the local market.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in project management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5+ years’ experience in Retail Operations, New Store Openings, or related experience.
  • Proven experience in successfully managing the project life cycle of new store openings in the luxury beauty industry.
  • Strong project management skills, including meticulous planning, execution, and risk management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with cross- functional teams and high-profile stakeholders.
