Summary
Microsoft’s Democracy Forward Initiative is hiring a highly motivated and organized Project Manager to help with security operations planning, administrative support, and customer communications & presentations supporting our 2024 US Elections customers and our Election Situation Room.
This work will support a nonpartisan team that coordinates Microsoft’s support for organizations that underpin free and secure elections. You will interact with customers such as political campaigns, election authorities, and elections technology vendors to help with project management, customer communication, work tracking, administrative scheduling tasks, security incident response planning, and business process optimization to ensure that elections-critical customer workloads are properly identified, tracked, and supported across the various security and support teams at Microsoft
Job Responsibilities
Develop and execute logistics for the "election situation room," including cybersecurity incident response plans and customer support escalation paths.
Engage directly with customers to present and explain election security solutions.
Project manage, track, update, and report on election workstreams.
Coordinate administrative tasks to facilitate customer interactions and internal meetings.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree or higher preferred.
4+ years of experience in operations roles, ideally within elections or campaigns.
Experience working with US elections and state/local governments.
Background in cybersecurity and developing written procedures.
Customer-facing experience with a knack for presentations.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and proactively.
Excellent external communication skills for engaging with customers, VIPs, and executives.
Strong organizational abilities with keen attention to detail.
Proficient in documenting workflows, creating guides, and drafting operational documents.
Familiarity with Microsoft collaboration tools like Teams, Sharepoint, Word/Excel/PowerPoint.

Location: Remote (any US time zone, high preference for candidates that can work hybrid 2 days per week from Washington DC or Redmond, WA)
Duration: 5 Months
Pay Range: $42.50 - 48.50 per hour
