Project Manager (Beauty Product Manufacturing)

Debut is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Project Manager to act as a liaison between our brand partners and our internal departments for new product launches. The successful candidate will work closely with the Account Manager and interact with Manufacturing, R&D, Quality Assurance, Regulatory, and Operations management to align priorities and commitments to both internal and external customers.

The Project Manager will monitor progress to ensure accuracy and that external customer commitments are on schedule, with any changes communicated clearly. They will address risks to product timeline expectations and manage relationships with external production partners. The ideal candidate will have experience managing product development from concept to market and working with external providers to achieve product launch timelines.

Essential Functions

  • Manage assigned projects/accounts by developing, publishing, and executing project timelines.
  • Act as a liaison with external agency PMs and internal stakeholders for product development projects.
  • Responsible for planning and tracking progress through the entire lifecycle of a product, from concept to delivery.
  • Support internal teams to ensure understanding and alignment of objectives and strategy, budget, and agreed-upon scope.
  • Conduct risk assessments, determine mitigation strategies, and make clear decisions.
  • Coordinate with the Ingredient Innovations team to identify the Bill of Materials (BOM) and share it with the Contract Manufacturing Organization (CMO).
  • Schedule weekly/bi-weekly calls with stakeholders, maintain calendars, keep meeting notes, and document them in project folders.
  • Maintain project status in project management software (e.g., monday.com) and ensure timely completion of key project milestones.
  • Schedule and co-lead Gate-Review meetings for all new products in conjunction with the Account Manager and promote effective communication cross functionally.
  • Manage project costs and align them with the budget.
  • Ensure project handoff from the Ingredient Innovation team to the CMO is executed and maintain support through the transition to ensure a successful production campaign.
  • Assist in resolving customer complaints by investigating problems, notifying management, and making recommendations. Ensure communications are coordinated to meet the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Prepare reports and presentations as needed.

Education and Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in project management within cosmetics or skin care industry. Previous experience managing projects in formulation custom development and contract manufacturing preferred.
  • Strong understanding of product development processes in the cosmetics industry.
  • Experience with project management software for real-time monitoring and reporting of project progress.
  • Effective critical thinking problem-solving skills and the ability generate ideas and workaround to manage project timelines, risk and address customer requirements.
  • Detail-oriented with superior organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 or related software.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to identify, mitigate risks, and make clear decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective planning & organizing skills; ability to handle multiple task/duties, and projects

  • Continuous upward and downward flexion of the neck.
  • Frequent sitting, repetitive use of hands to operate computers, printers and copiers.
