Project Manager

We are in search of a dynamic Project Manager to spearhead the coordination of our diverse portfolio of projects across all internal departments! In this pivotal role, you will collaborate closely with various teams to uphold structured project management practices and ensure successful project outcomes. As a key member of the Safepoint teams, you will oversee end-to-end project delivery, facilitate comprehensive business requirement gathering, translate business needs into technical specifications, and drive the seamless execution of distributed tasks leading to the deployment of innovative solutions.

This position will be based in our offices in Tampa, FL 33618 and Temple Terrace, FL 33637.

Safepoint MGA, LLC is a Property & Casualty insurance carrier based in Tampa, FL.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Leading project planning sessions
  • Coordinating staff and internal resources
  • Managing project progress and adapting work as required
  • Ensuring projects meet deadlines
  • Managing relationships with clients and stakeholders
  • Overseeing all incoming and outgoing project documentation
  • Designing risk mitigation plan
  • Conducting project review and creating detailed reports for executive staff
  • Optimizing and improving processes and the overall approach where necessary
  • Securing growth opportunities and initiating new projects
  • Direct point of contact bridging the business project owners with IT technical resources

Essential Functions

  • Ability to think critically, research information on risks, and make informed decisions using proper judgment
  • Ability to multitask and accurately track statuses of multiple projects
  • Ability to convey technical ideas to a non-technical audience
  • Ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writing

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of experience in Project Management or related field
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or IT Project Management preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong leadership, team management, and motivation skills
  • Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Understanding of project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices
  • Experience seeing projects through the full life cycle
  • In-depth understanding of modern day SDLC practices
  • Ability to relay technical specifications into business definitions
  • Previous scrum master experience is a plus
  • Experience working in Jira or Azure DevOps is a plus
  • PMP Certification is a plus.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, use hands to type, grasp, handle, and feel, and reach with hands and arms
  • This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines
