Project Financial Analyst - Remote | WFH

Position: Project Controller

As a Project Controller, you will participate in the planning, tracking, analysis, and reporting of performance on projects of varying contract types, sizes, complexities, and levels of risk. You will be a key member of the program team, working directly with the Program Manager to help define project goals and objectives, ensure project accounting integrity and compliance, and recommend actions to improve progress and performance. You will interact significantly with Program/Project Managers, senior technical staff, and other functional organizations including contracts, finance, accounting, accounts receivable, subcontract management, and procurement. This role can be based in Europe (Belgium preferred) or the United States (VA/DC area preferred) and reports to the Project Control Manager.

Responsibilities

Provide cost, schedule, and funding planning, reporting, monitoring, and analysis support to Program Managers and management, including Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), Basis of Estimates (BOEs), and development of time-phased budgets and schedules.

Develop and maintain project-level revenue forecasts for Financial Planning and Analysis leadership.

Lead project setup in compliance with contractual terms, conditions, and requirements.

Prepare program financial Estimates at Complete (EAC) and meet submission deadlines.

Identify project risks and opportunities, providing analytical support to resolve issues with PM, Contracts, Procurement, and Finance/Accounting.

Review and assess all contract modifications, advising the program management team of financial impacts as necessary.

Monitor costs and manpower weekly, ensuring actuals are within budget and charged to the correct job number and account. Process cost transfers as required.

Perform analytical review and arithmetic checks of cost reporting documentation.

Prepare accurate and complete variance analysis and reporting.

Prepare and support internal Program Management Review (PMR) presentations for management.

Prepare financial Contract Data Requirements (CDRL) for programs, ensuring contractual requirements and customer financial deliverables are met accurately and on time.

Perform ad-hoc financial analysis on contracts as requested by PMO and others.

Support and perform program proposal pricing activities.

Monitor funding/contract status, providing reliable and timely notification of funding status by line-item detail as required.

Support accounts receivable during the billing process. Monitor billing status and unbilled issues, working with Finance, Contracts, Accounting, and PMO to resolve issues in a timely manner.

Ensure program revenue and profit are recorded in compliance with the EAC.

Ensure adherence to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), internal controls, and all company policies and procedures related to contract performance and financials.

Qualifications

Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Bachelor's degree in Business or Program Management preferred, but not required.

3 to 5 years of Program Control or related progressive experience, with an emphasis in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

Strong background in working with multiple contract types: FFP, FPI, FPLOE, T&M, CPAF, CPFF, CPIF, and hybrid contracts.

Understanding of revenue recognition methods.

Expertise in Excel and the overall MS Office suite, with working knowledge of relevant software applications.

Experience With SAP ERP System Preferred.

Excellent organizational skills, able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.

Strong analytical skills, with excellent communication and presentation abilities, and the capacity to work independently as well as part of a team.

Strong customer service focus.

Demonstrates the highest level of ethics and integrity.

Strong interpersonal skills for interfacing with all levels within the organization, including senior management, with effective influencing skills and a proactive 'no surprises' approach to communicating issues/requests.
