GovCIO is seeking a versatile Project Coordinator to support the Deparment of Veterans Affairs (VA) in the Office of the Chief Technology Officer (OCTO). This position is fully remote.

Responsibilities

The candidate will support a variety of initiatives across a vast and dynamic IT organization. Must be a self-starter who can quickly understand new assignments, conduct research, provide relevant content, offer solutions, and is adaptable. Responsible for client interactions and ensuring coordination and desired outcomes are accomplished. The environment is dynamic, and the client needs are often evolving. Flexibility and forward-thinking views are important for success.

  • Liaisons across a diverse multi-disciplined, multi-faceted IT organization, serving millions of end-users and Veterans
  • Assists external teams by providing clear, concise communication and instructions to prepare their presentations
  • Creates graphics, transitions, and animations in PowerPoint to support the verbal presentation and enhance messaging
  • Supports Technical Tuesday events as a production crew member and event support tasks
  • Problem solver who can quickly conduct research to address a wide range of topics and then successfully accomplish the work
  • Professionally communicates ideas and updates to senior executives
  • Assesses issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives
  • Gathers information through research, statistical reports and interviews then organizes the data into meaningful content for a wide range of tasks and a variety of audiences/stakeholders
  • Address backlog items on a variety of topics

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, or a related scientific or technical discipline is required, and 8+ years of experience ( 5 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education)
  • Experience synthesizing concepts from different efforts to educate and enhance success
  • Advanced PowerPoint skills using graphics, transitions, animations, master slides, infographics, etc.
  • Experience with using SharePoint templates and editing pages
  • Experience managing video recordings on SharePoint using MS Stream
  • Experience creating Section 508 accessible content in writing, presentations, and for posting online
  • Experience creating infographics from base data to simplify and illustrate complex ideas
  • Experience with basic video editing concepts
  • Proficient with creating and using Excel spreadsheets to collect and analyze data and statistics
  • Strong analytical and investigative skills with ability to make connections, uncover patterns, and identify customer needs; crafting recommended solutions to inform leadership decisions
  • Experience taking imprecise requirements and requests and delivering robust solutions, products, and/or recommendations
  • Experience with organization-wide communication
  • Experience facilitating meetings, collecting action items, and following up with individuals and groups to ensure tasks are completed in the required timeframe
  • Flexibility, ingenuity, creativity, diplomacy, and a willingness to learn and adapt
  • Experience working within distributed teams and remote environments

Preferred Skills And Experience

  • Experience with VA OIT
  • Experience with Jira or similar tool to capture project tasks, risks, and progress
  • Experience with graphic design
  • Understanding of Human Centered Design principles

Posted Pay Range

The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Posted Salary Range

USD $90,000.00 - USD $110,000.00 /Yr.
