About this position:Baker Publishing Group is seeking a candidate to fill a Project Coordinator position in the Design department. The individual in this position will be responsible for making editorial corrections in new print books using InDesign, coordinating with freelancers to apply styles to new manuscripts using Microsoft Word, and being the point person for answering questions about projects currently moving through the Design department. Other minor responsibilities include participating in design-check critiques, assigning pre-press checks to designers, and collecting files as needed for the Rights department. Related duties that may or may not be needed include verifying that correct styles were applied in MS Word to final manuscripts, making reprint corrections, or assigning work to the designers.Qualifications:
Ability to prioritize, handle multiple tasks, follow schedules, and meet deadlines.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Strong communication skills
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and/or Adobe InDesign preferred
Working knowledge of the MacOS preferred.
Knowledge of paragraph and character styles a plus
One year of relevant work experience preferred
