An established engineering firm has an immediate opening for a controls engineer. This is a direct hire position with highly competitive pay and benefits.


Duties

  • Complete schematics of electrical panels. Select and specify all electrical components (power distribution, PLC, I/O, communications, sensors, etc)
  • Develop PLC/HMI software to operate complex processing plants.
  • Design/implement ethernet and other industrial networks.
  • Create and manage project documentation such that equipment is properly installed in the field.
  • Assist with system startup, commissioning, and acceptance as necessary.
  • Lead projects from concept through completion.
  • Interface with customers and provide engineering guidance to appropriate solutions.
  • Provide technical support to customers as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, or significant hands-on experience.
  • Rockwell (Studio 5000) or Siemens TIA portal programming proficiency required. Other platforms (DeltaV, Automation Direct, etc) will be considered.
  • Hands on experience with VFDs and servo drives.
  • Ability to travel as required to support project needs, including international travel, while working non-traditional schedules.
  • Extensive knowledge of industrial panel standards and applicable codes (ISA, NFPA, IEEE, etc).
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Must be able to climb in, onto, and over process equipment in industrial environments with ladders.
  • Must be licensed to drive in the United States and possess a valid passport.
  • Must be able to tolerate temperature extremes when visiting industrial plants.
  • Must be a self-starter capable of working with minimal supervision.
