Position Overview: The Program Coordinator is primarily responsible for supporting the Director of Volunteer Services at Rider University as well as the Director of Program Services.

 

All responsibilities will be guided by the agency’s mission to assist participants in maintaining independence, dignity, health and well-being by providing comprehensive nutrition services and helping ease social isolation.

Volunteer Related

·     Helps with meal distribution at Rider University and delivers meals alone or with a volunteer when needed

·     Creates and modifies recruiting materials

·     Assesses opportunities and needs for volunteers

·     Writes periodic articles regarding volunteers/participants for agency newsletter with an eye on volunteer recruitment

·     Ensures that all records of volunteers are up to date and ensures that all volunteers submit background checks

·     Helps plan volunteer recognition events

·     Ensures that all volunteer delivery equipment is well cared for, stored and accounted for at Rider University

 

Program Related

·     Performs assessments and reassessments of MOWMC participants, screening for eligibility and explaining all aspects of the program to them and family/caregivers when appropriate

·     Responsible for data entry of new participants

·     Makes referrals to other meals programs and social service agencies when appropriate

·     Maintains up-to-date file and case notes on each participant

·     Troubleshoots issues regarding food and meal delivery

·     Coordinates other programs including the Pet Pantry, the USDA Commodity Program, the Farmers Market Voucher Program and the Fresh Fruit & Produce Program

·     Represents agency at outreach and tabling events

 

General

·     Follows a strict code of confidentiality

·     Works as an effective inter-departmental team member

·     Required to work some holidays
