Description
Position Overview:
Directs and manages production schedules and employees to ensure safety, quality products, on-time delivery and adherence to budget.
Essential Functions:
- Hire, train, lead and motivate employees for maximum productivity and employee engagement
- Manage production employees and schedules to meet deadlines on a daily basis to meet customer expectations for quality and delivery
- Reviews schedules and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications
- Lead and drive process improvements throughout department
- Works closely with other departments to ensure on-time delivery and customer satisfaction
- Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays
- Develop or revise standard operational and working practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards
- Inspects machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization

- Compiles, stores, and retrieves production data
- Drives and ensure safety of all employees and equipment per company guidelines and assist with EH&S, Haz-Mat, and First Aid Safety duties as required
- Share knowledge and techniques to help others progress
- Assist with chemical storage and disposal
Job Specifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):
- Proven leadership skills
- Proficient with Outlook, ERP Manufacturing software and time and attendance payroll systems
- AS9100 / ISO 13485 Quality Systems experience
- Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, and multitask
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Excellent organization skills with strong attention to detail
- Excellent teamwork skills and high degree of initiative required
- Excellent communication both written and verbal
- Work independently and possess a high level of self-motivation and initiative
- Knowledge of aviation preferred
- Machine shop experience preferred (mill, lathe, etc.)
- High school diploma or GED
- AA/AS degree with 7+ years of related experience and/or training
- BA/BS with 5+ years of related experience and/or training
- Proven lean manufacturing/process improvement experience
