Production Planning Manager
Overview: As a Production Planning Manager you will play a crucial role in coordinating and optimizing production processes within our aerospace manufacturing operations. You will be responsible for ensuring timely and efficient production schedules, optimizing resource utilization, and maintaining high standards of quality and safety in accordance with aerospace industry regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement production plans that align with company objectives and customer demands.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, procurement, engineering, and quality assurance to ensure seamless workflow and production efficiency.
- Analyze production specifications and capacity data to determine optimal production schedules and resource allocation.
- Monitor production progress and address any issues that arise to minimize disruptions and delays.
- Collaborate with procurement to ensure timely availability of materials and components required for production.
- Implement and maintain production planning systems, tools, and processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with aerospace industry regulations, quality standards, and safety guidelines throughout the production process.
- Prepare regular reports and presentations on production metrics, schedules, and performance for management review.
- Lead and mentor a team of production planners, providing guidance and support to achieve departmental and organizational goals.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Proven experience in production planning, preferably within the aerospace industry or a similarly regulated manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of production planning principles, methodologies, and best practices.
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and proficiency in using planning software/tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Project).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across teams and levels within the organization.
- Leadership experience with a demonstrated ability to coach, develop, and motivate a team.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
