The Production Manager is responsible for managing the daily operations of the manufacturing plant. This includes the supervision of a team of production supervisors and their respective work teams. The Production Manager must ensure that all production activities are executed in a manner consistent with established quality standards and guidelines while ensuring maximum efficiency. The Production Manager will also ensure that all production is completed within budget and on-time.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the manufacturing plant in accordance with established budget and production goals
Provide direction, guidance, and support to team of production supervisors and their work teams
Ensure all production activities are executed in a manner consistent with established quality standards and guidelines
Develop and maintain production schedules that ensure maximum efficiency in use of plant resources
Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives that improve the efficiency and effectiveness of production processes
Ensure that the manufacturing plant is operating in compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations
Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, vendors, and customers to ensure timely delivery of materials and products
Ensure that all plant personnel are trained in the safe operation of all equipment and machinery
Assist in the development of annual capital expenditure budgets
Manage plant expenditures within established budgets
Prepare and submit regular reports to the Director of Operations
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or related field
Minimum 5 years of experience in a supervisory role in a manufacturing environment
Experience with MRP software systems
Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
